Company Overview

The Canadian Working Group on HIV and Rehabilitation (CWGHR) is a national, multi-sector, multi-disciplinary charitable organization that works to address issues of disability and rehabilitation in the context of living with HIV and other episodic disabilities. CWGHR is a leader and catalyst for improved rehabilitation policies and programs for people living with HIV and other episodic disabilities, through integrated research, education, policy and practice. CWGHR’s primary goal is to improve the daily lives of people living with HIV and other episodic disabilities in direct and meaningful ways by rehabilitation care, support and services.
CWGHR’s mandate includes:
a) a coordinating and advisory role on issues of disability and rehabilitation in the context of HIV and other episodic disabilities,
b) supporting and undertaking projects in rehabilitation in the context of HIV and other episodic disabilities, and
c) encouraging pan-disease collaboration to address issues experienced by people living with HIV and those with other complex chronic or episodic conditions.

The governance of CWGHR is undertaken through a national volunteer Board of Directors. The overall operational work of CWGHR is managed by an Executive Director in consultation with the Board of Directors and national membership. CWGHR was formed in 1998 and its office is located in Toronto.
