About the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD)
The Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) is a membership association that represents the interests of directors in Canada with a view to strengthening the governance and performance of Canadian and inter-listed corporations. With 9 Chapters across Canada and more than 3000 members, the ICD educates directors through Chapter events, continuing education and formal education governance programs in partnership with the Joseph L. Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto. The ICD also certifies Directors with Canada’s ICD.D designation to ensure they are well-prepared to discharge their fiduciary obligations in the boardroom. In 2005, the ICD helped found the Global Director Development Circle, an international governance network focused on raising governance standards worldwide.
