Northern Trust Corporation, whose business began in 1889, is a multi-bank holding company with it headquarters in Chicago, with a growing network of offices in 12 states, international offices in five countries and over 9,400 employees worldwide.

We provide trust, custody, investment management, and banking services to individual and institutional clients throughout the world.

As of 30 September 2007, we have US$63 billion in banking assets, US$4.1 trillion in assets under custody and US$761 billion in assets under management.

Benefits

Northern Trust offers one of the most generous, comprehensive benefits package in the financial services industry including extensive Work/Life and Family Services.


Eligibility requirement: Regular employment and 20-40 scheduled hours per week. Less than 20 hours/week hires are eligible for (*) benefits.


Medical Plans - Traditional PPO and HMO options. Coverage starts 1st of the month after hire date. Includes spouse/same or opposite sex domestic-partner or extended household member, and dependent coverage options.


Dental Plans - Traditional PPO and DMO options. Start date and dependent coverage options are the same as under the Medical Plans above.


Vision Plan - Start date and dependent coverage options are the same as under the Medical Plans above.


Income Protection Plans (Sick Days, Short-term and Long-term Disability) - Starts 1st day of employment.


Pension - A percentage of your pay will accrue for each year of service. Annual accruals increase with years of service. The benefit you will receive is expressed as a lump sum, which is the sum of all of your annual accruals times the average of your highest consecutive five years of pay. You are vested after completing 5 years of service. A Broad-Based Stock Option plan will be introduced in May, 2002.


Life Insurance - Free coverage equal to covered pay up to $50,000. Starts the 1st of the month after hire date. Optional contributory coverage is available up to 5x covered pay.


Dependent Life Insurance - Contributory coverage up to $50,000 for spouse or domestic partner and/or dependent children for $10,000 each.


Business Travel Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance - Free coverage starts 1st day of employment. Optional 24 hour contributory coverage equal to 5x covered pay is available for employee and family.


Flexible Spending Accounts - Health and Day Care Account pre-tax deductions can begin the 1st of the month after hire date. The calendar year maximum for each plan is $5,000.


Commuter Transportation Management Account - Pay for your commute to work on a pretax basis. Both mass transit and parking expenses are eligible.


Paid Time Off - Northern offers a highly competitive Paid Time Off package including Vacation, 10 Legal Holidays and 2 Floating Holidays.


Educational Assistance - Full time employees with six months of service and satisfactory performance are eligible to request assistance with job related course work/degrees. Approved Undergraduate courses are reimbursed at 100% and Graduate courses at 80%.
