About the Students on Ice Foundation

Active since 1999, Students on Ice (SOI) is a respected, Canadian global leader and pioneer in Polar Education. The award-winning organization has taken more than 2,700 students, teachers, scientists, elders, artists, and leaders to the Arctic and Antarctic on more than 30 educational expeditions and has been involved in many other national and international outreach and education initiatives.

Since its inception, the SOI Foundation has established significant and strong partnerships across the country with the Federal Government of Canada, Provincial and Territorial Governments, the Education sector, leading non-profit organizations, foundations, and the private sector.

The SOI Foundation is supported by a high-profile Board of Advisors, chaired by HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco.
